I've been wanting to create it for the longest time, and we are finally here! AlohaSoleil is a lifestyle company. A place to find tips & tricks about travel, language learning, culture, shopping & the digital nomad lifestyle. But what makes us different?
We travel slow. Instead of visiting as many sites as possible, the focus is on immersing oneself in the local culture. Or simply treating a place as a home, working during the day, and exploring the city by night. We have a middle budget and need for certain levels of comfort. Instead of traveling from hostel to hostel or hotel to hotel, it's usually a month stay here and there in an airbnb. Remote worker that needs fast wifi, but on a budget. Sometimes we super budget, and sometimes we splurge!
It's very important for us to be respectful of the places we visit. We like to learn some of the language to be able to interact with locals and learn more from them. Realistically, we can't be perfect, and immerse ourselves and contribute what we would like to every place we visit. We do our best and share our experiences with you.
Instead of telling you the products to buy because we are getting paid to do so, you are getting all of the real hacks. Products that are recommended, we have found, purchased myself and tested. We will let you know when we are using affiliate links, how we got them, and how they help us.
Why the name, AlohaSoleil?
Having been born & raised in Hawaii, Aloha was a given. It's hard to explain the spirit of Aloha; love, appreciation for the important people and culture in your life. It never leaves you. Every time I need a refill, a quick trip home will do.
Part of growing up in Hawaii is growing up with plenty of sunshine. I admit, as a kid, I did not like it at times. But now I know, after living in places with real cold and real seasons, I am happiest when the sun is shining (preferably on a beach in a bikini somewhere). I have always loved how the French language sounds, and picked a middle school to attend based on the sole fact that I could take this language as a course.
